Original WWII mess kits. These are the US equivalent of the British mess tin. Comprised of a main pan and a separate two piece dish, every GI carried this as part of his basic field equipment. For the Normandy invasion, some troops were issued a second set whilst on board ships.
These are the more common M1942 variety. As the name suggests, this pattern was adopted in 1942 and superseded the earlier M1910 and M1932 models. Manufactured in aluminium, galvanised steel or CRS (Corrosion Resistant Steel). Current stock consists of either aluminium or CRS and all in clean, useable condition. We typically wash these in boiling water and inspect them before they get stored, but we STRONGLY recommend doing this yourself when you receive them.
All wartime dated and guaranteed original.
